Advent Reborn
Allocate Unity to level up Unity abilities, which are a diverse collection of strategic capabilities for your empire.
Overview
Advent Reborn follows the enduring, self-sacrificing doctrine of the Unity. The faction absorbs enemy aggression through casualty recovery, defensive resilience, battlefield resurrection and tactical sacrifice.
Compared with Advent Wrath
Both Advent factions share the Unity framework, but pursue different ends:
- Strategic focus: Wrath emphasizes psionic crowd control and cultural spread. Reborn prioritizes casualty recovery, shield restoration and resilience under siege.
- Unity abilities: Reborn's abilities include Cleanse, Resurrection, Recall, Sanctify, Sacrifice and the shared Clairvoyance. Wrath has offensive counterparts such as Chastise, Fury and Proselytize.
- Titan: Wrath fields the Coronata Titan to capture enemy ships. Reborn fields the Eradica Titan, whose weapon damage and shields grow as nearby friendly ships are destroyed.
Core mechanics
Unity, Focus and orbital tracks
Planetary Focus orbit tracks tie Focus capacity and regeneration to planetary population and orbital infrastructure. Growing your civilian infrastructure keeps your abilities funded.
Resurrection
Unity Resurrection only works where friendly or allied culture is dominant, and each cast restores up to a fixed amount of fleet supply. Other resurrection effects, from structures or capital ship abilities, follow their own rules.
Recall and Sacrifice
- Recall: Teleports a fleet back to home territory, but its ships cannot fire, use abilities or phase jump while the ability charges.
- Sacrifice: Consumes loyal planetary population to deal heavy damage across the local and adjacent gravity wells, including to friendly ships.
Focus Conversion and corruption defense
Early Focus Conversion produces credits; conversion to metal and crystal unlocks at tier 5. Reborn has corruption mitigation research at tiers 1, 2 and 3, and Cleanse removes corruption from nearby units.
Strategic trade-offs
- Loss recovery vs. income: Reborn recovers casualties well, but recovering losses is not the same as earning income. High production still depends on holding territory.
- Cultural reach: Resurrection depends on allied cultural dominance, so pushing deep beyond your culture is riskier.
- Focus budgeting: Focus spent on economic conversion is not available for defensive abilities in battle.
Content and DLC
The base game Reborn roster includes the Eradica Titan, the standard Advent capital ships and the Deliverance Engine. The Reinforcements DLC adds the Justicia Dreadnought, a heavy command ship, and the Mass Conversion victory condition.
